Sunday is for lazy mornings, latte, and travel dreams… that seems to be what the newspapers all believe. A few samples from today’s publications…
Now when you rent a car, Hertz offers its Green Collection — more than 40 fuel-efficient models. Each gets at least 28 mpg on the freeway, but for some unfathomable reason, Hertz thinks that should cost you an extra $5 a day in rental fees. None of the “Green Collection” are hybrids, because Hertz says it has a few but not enough to meet demand. (Maybe they should add a few more, then?)
If you’re looking for an eco-friendly ride, how about an electric bike? The intrepid cyclist Quentin van Marle set off last week on a 2,000-mile, 75-day trek along the Mississippi River. Check out his Web site for a journal of the trip.
