Burnham Deepdale, a green success story

Burnham Deepdale, a tiny village on England’s East coast, could easily have declined, like many rural communities, as its small farms failed to compete, its young people left for the city, and traffic whizzed straight past without stopping.

Instead, the village is booming, tourists flock there year-round, and it’s seen as a model for sustainable development. Several hostels, a working farm, cafes, sailing, camping, hiking, tipis, windsurfing, fresh local mussells and friendly pubs are among the attractions.
