December Deal: Stay Free in Belize

Looking for a quick tropical getaway before the holidays? Belize wants you to come visit their country, and as an enticement, they’re offering free rooms in hotels, lodges, and resorts. The “Stay Free in Belize” campaign runs December 3 to 7.

Among the places offering the deal are a couple that focus on outdoor exploration and low ecological impact. The Black Rock River Lodge runs on solar and hydropower. They offer horseback riding, jungle trekking, canoeing, and birding. The Lodge at Chaa Creek, located in a nature preserve, has won a slew of green-travel awards. They offer high-end spa amenities, their own butterfly farm, and a natural-history museum.

About a dozen other places are listed, from oceanfront to jungle, and a couple are already fully booked. So if a quick getaway to Belize sounds good, can’t beat this price.

If you are looking at Chaa Creek- also look at Du Plooys. It is an Awesome place that a family literally buit and still runs by hand. They have finally received recognition as a true botanical garden as well. They also have an amazing bar/bird watching deck built into the side of a mountain. Definately check them out!
