		<description>I was in the Peace Corps in Kazakhstan and most of the eco tourism we did was to look at the country&#039;s long and sad environmental record.  It was a dumping ground for the USSR and the legacy of above ground nuclear tests and the draining of the Aral Sea are still felt today.

That said, there are select parts of the country that are beautiful and it is heartening to read that there is a movement towards promoting the environment.  It is not the easiest place to travel but if you can manage to pull it off you&#039;ll certainly have some stories to tell when you come home.</description>
