Is there anything more stereotypically eco-crunchy than saving the pandas? But this archetypical charismatic megafauna, fluffy and cuddly and black-and-white as it is, truly is an endangered species that’s been practically wiped out by the human invasion of its habitat. So why not spend a couple weeks of your life helping to save the pandas?
The Panda Conservation Project near Xi’an, China, invites volunteers to come stay at their remote site for two to four weeks and help out. Your chores will run from cleaning animal cages and helping the Chinese staff improve their English skills, to collecting data for scientific research and leading tours for visitors.
