I’m always on the look out for eco-orientated jobs that I think will appeal to Ecotourism Logue readers, especially those on the move. This one for Den Challenge Team at The Eden Project in Cornwall, UK, will suit creative types keen to get involved in something a little more daring than the usual 9 to 5 drudgery.
“Come and play in the sun at Eden this summer in our den building challenge! Building on the success of Den Challenge 07, we are once again seeking creative, inspirational and capable individuals to form a team that fires the imagination of all ages in exploring the possibilities of play and den construction. Essential skills you will need are a constant welcoming smile, amazing listening skills, a fantastic ability to visualise dream dens and most importantly roll up your sleeves to help our visitors make them happen on a large scale. You will be working outside and inside in two dedicated spaces, with an extensive range of materials in a physically demanding role with some manual handling involved. Ideally you will be confident using a range of associated tools and have proven experience in design and build problem solving.”

The Eden Project is mainly an educational charity built with regeneration and sustainability in mind. Starting from humble beginnings in a disused china clay quarry with little surrounding vegetation, the Eden Project shows what imagination and people power can do. It is now home to the biggest greenhouses in the world and boats a Living Theatre of Plants and People which draws visitors from far and wide. It’s been running for around 10 years now and is proving more popular than ever as people have become acutely aware of environmental issues. Visitors arriving by foot, bicycle or public transport are eligible for discounted entry.
